Rear wheel of bus falls off axle

A WHEEL flew off its axle as a bus was moving in the Pudong New Area on Monday, but no injuries or damages were reported.
The incident happened about 4:35pm around Dongfang Road and Rushan Road, said witnesses.
Passengers on the bus, Tunnel Line 9, recalled that they felt a sudden heavy shaking of the bus body during their trip and also heard a loud sound.
The driver stopped the bus immediately, Xinmin Evening News reported.
The left rear wheel came off the axle and rolled toward a greenery area.
A witness said sparks were seen as the rear of the bus touched the ground.
Another bus was called to pick up the passengers and the problem remained under investigation.
