A MAN has been detained for alleged rape and robbery at a residence in Putuo District, police said yesterday.
The suspect, surnamed Min from Jiangxi Province, had arrived at the victim's home on Wednesday night after she had phoned asking for repairs to her windows. Seeing the victim alone, Min threatened her with a knife before raping her and stealing about 500 yuan (US$73.25) in cash, police said.
