Reserve your parking spot online, now
VISITORS who drive to the second China International Import Expo can make reservations for parking around the venue starting from yesterday, the Shanghai Transportation Commission said.
All cars going to the expo will have to make a reservation for parking at least one day in advance. This year, there are 17 parking lots offering 7,000 spaces for small vehicles, 3,000 more than last year. There will also be 1,100 spaces for buses.
Visitors can book parking on Alipay or WeChat. The reservation system offers two time periods for visitors: from 8am to 1pm and from 1pm to 5pm. The fee for each period is 20 yuan (US$2.8) for small vehicles and 40 yuan for buses. Drivers can book both periods, subject to availability.
After choosing a parking space and providing vehicle information, visitors can pay online as well.
From November 1, parking certificates will be available to those who have paid their fee. Visitors must print and present these certificates to pass roadblocks around the venue.
All parking lots will have an artificial intelligence plate recognition system to allow fast access for registered cars.
So far, seven parking lots among the 17 have opened portals for reservation, the rest will do so soon.
