Residents visit the family of stab victim
ABOUT 200 Shanghai Netizens visited a middle-aged man's family over the weekend after he was stabbed and killed while stopping thieves last week.
The group donated money and flowers to Jiang Yaohua's family and offered condolences to his son and brother.
The suspects have not been caught, Putuo District police said.
"Jiang is a hero. He died for righteousness, and we should do something for his family," a Netizen posted on a Website.
Jiang, 50, was stabbed on January 17. He saw three thieves stealing near Yangliuqing Road and Wuning Road and stopped them, witnesses said. The thieves stabbed Jiang in the back.
He was pronounced dead the next day in Putuo District Center Hospital.
"Jiang's family has it pretty bad so I hope more people can help them," said the organizer of the visit surnamed Ye.
