Riverside theater stages city first

SHANGHAI'S first riverside theatre will be built in northwest Jiading New City, with construction due to start in June.
The design was revealed yesterday for the 1,500-seat theater, which will cost 700 million yuan (US$102.55 million), today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
The theatre, which incorporates natural elements such as water, light and breezes, will be dedicated to opera and classical concerts, and also have a multi-function hall for 400 people.
The structure will cover 50,000 square meters.
