SWAT team hold man in knife drama

A SWAT team seized a man armed with a knife yesterday morning, after a couple were slashed in a residential building in Zhabei District.
The middle-aged man, surnamed Fei, has mental health problems, claimed neighbors in Zhabei's Jingfengyuan residential complex.
A couple, who are both aged 56 and live in the complex, underwent surgery after being attacked and were still in hospital last night, police said. Officers said the man was seriously injured.
A dispute triggered the attack in the building's corridor at around 9am, witnesses said.
The woman, surnamed Bian, was stabbed in the face and left eye, claimed neighbors.
The suspect was later apprehended by a city police SWAT team, officers said.
Witnesses said he had been holding a knife and was wearing only shorts as he was led away.
"The suspect keeps to himself and we know little about him," said a neighbor.
