San Marino marches

MEDIEVAL pennants will wave, and archers with crossbows will let arrows fly today in celebration of San Marino National Pavilion Day.

Minister for Tourism Fabio Berardi will attend the opening ceremony.

The show of pennants and archery will be performed by the San Marino Crossbowmen's Federation at noon in the Expo Center. With medieval pageantry they will also take part in the parade on Bocheng Road in the afternoon.

San Marino, sometimes called "the most serene republic" of San Marino, is a tiny landlocked country within Italy.

The San Marino Pavilion themed "The City-State" is in Zone C in the Europe Joint Pavilion, next to the Hungary and Czech pavilions.

It has received almost 200,000 visitors thus far, for an average of more than 7,500 a day.
