Saudi pavilion to open to individual visitors

THE Saudi Arabia Pavilion will open to individual visitors beginning from Friday charging 60 yuan (US$9.41) per person but only in the afternoon with a limited number of tickets to avoid overcrowding.

Individuals can visit the pavilion between 12pm to 6pm every day except Monday and only 800 tickets will be sold each hour at the entrance from 11am to 5pm.

"The pavilion will prolong its opening time or increase the number of individual visitors when there are fewer group visitors," an Expo Development Group spokesman said yesterday.

Tickets cost 80 yuan for weekends and 100 yuan for public holidays. Retirees, servicemen, the disabled, students and children will enjoy a 20 yuan discount.

The pavilion currently opens only to groups to avoid huge crowds. Dubbed the "Moon Boat" because of its shape, the pavilion has received more than 200,000 visitors since it reopened on September 28.

During the six-month World Expo last year, people had to wait as long as nine hours to enter the pavilion, drawn to its 15-minute panoramic film on a 1,600-square-meter screen.

Organizations can make book visits to the pavilion at www.moonboat.cn. Visitors can dial 021-33841785 for information.
