Shanghai Citizens Art festival opens on Saturday

The third Shanghai Citizens Art Festival will begin on Saturday with more than 20,000 cultural events to be held at the city's 203 community centers.
Xiao Yeying, an organizer of the festival, says that this year's festival will focus on the commemoration of China’s victory in the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the promotion of family values and reading.
Families will be encouraged to participate in various singing, handicraft and Chinese opera competitions.
A series of light-hearted family reading clubs and master classes on art and traditional culture will be held. Celebrated artists will be invited to share their expertise and opinions.
The Shanghai Municipal Administration of Culture, Radio, Film and TV launched the festival in 2013.
