Shanghai cabby stabbed to death early today

A SHANGHAI cabby was stabbed to death in the wee hours of today in Minhang District.

The 53-year-old victim, a Shanghai local from suburban Fengxian District, was believed to have been stabbed about 20 meters from the gate of a company on Jinglian Road about 2am.

A witness, who is a security guard with the company, said the cabby struggled to pull the car over near the company gate after the attack and he believed the taxi driver was trying to ask for help.

The man died from severe wounds and police are investigating.
