LAST month the use of shuanghuanglian injections was banned after a woman died in Datong, Qinghai Province.
In November, the FDA halted production of a ciwujia herbal injection believed to have killed three people.
In September, Wang Guiping, a fake drug dealer, was jailed for life after he was held responsible for 14 deaths at a hospital in Guangdong Province.
In 2006, Xinfu antibiotic injections, made by Anhui Huayuan Worldbest Biology Pharmacy Company, were blamed for the deaths of at least 10 patients.
