Single mom's dad offers her a home

THE father of a 20-year-old homeless woman who gave birth to a mixed-race girl on Saturday has today visited them at People's Liberation Army No 411 Hospital and agreed to arrange a home for her.
The woman gave birth without knowing the father's identity, since she had a one-night stand with a black man in February without asking for his contact details.
Neither of the woman's parents, who divorced five years ago and have each remarried, helped her during pregnancy but subdistrict officials in Wujiaochang Town managed to find her father who was living nearby.
Officials from Shanghai Youth League visited the woman yesterday with a lawyer and psychologist.
"We'll offer long-term legal and psychological guidance to her, because she may face a lot of problems in taking care of the baby by herself or giving custody to someone else," said Shen Ting from the youth league. "We will make sure that every step she takes will be in line with the law and help her find a job after she recovers."
