Snacks to tempt Expo visitors

VISITORS to next year's Expo won't go hungry 鈥 about 300 types of Chinese snacks will be provided for domestic and overseas visitors.

Shanghai Old-Town Temple Restaurant (Group) Co Ltd yesterday won the right to operate snack stalls in the food plaza of the Expo zone, Oriental Morning Post reported today.

The company runs the food concession at the City God Temple, offering 627 delicacies to visitors. "We'll choose the most popular dishes to offer for Expo," said the general manager Shi Meilun.

The snacks will be sold at the 2nd floor of the 2,700-square-meter food plaza, where chefs will prepare crab dumplings in a glassed kitchen. Food will be labeled in Chinese, English and Japanese, while staff are being trained in English, Japanese and sign language.
