Snapped bus cable injures pregnant mom

A PREGNANT woman and several other pedestrians were slightly injured and rushed to a local hospital at about 2pm today after an overhead bus cable ruptured and fell to the ground during a traffic accident.
The victims are being treated at the Putuo District People's Hospital. They were all hit and injured by the falling bus power line on downtown Changshou Road. A cargo truck carrying freight that exceeded the height limitation accidentally hit the power line and snapped it, according to Xinmin.cn, a local news portal.
A pregnant woman, surnamed Shi, reportedly told the website that she heard a big bang and squatted to protect the head with arms. But she still felt the body heavily lashed by the cable. Traffic police closed part of the driveways to keep space for emergency repairs after the accident.
