SHANGHAI'S pension fund and medicare insurance coverage has been expanded to city residents' out-of-town spouses.
To be eligible for the new policy, people should be employed in Shanghai with men aged under 60 and women under 55, authorities said.
Each applicant must pay at least 1,975 yuan (US$289.26) for the right to joining the city's social insurance network.
