Some OK compensation
ABOUT a quarter of the owners of apartments destroyed in last year's deadly high-rise inferno on Jiaozhou Road accepted the compensation offered, according to the Jing'an District government.
But owners of 120 flats had not accepted the offer by last Friday. They are holding out for better terms amid claims the process was not conducted properly. In addition, 20 victim families out of the 58 dead have agreed with the compensation deal.
