Some brand air purifiers fail quality tests: city's quality watchdog

Four batches of air purifiers, including a batch made by Xiaomi Inc, failed quality tests, Shanghai's quality watchdog said today.
The batch of Xiaomi's air purifiers sold on online retailer JD.com were substandard for their clean air delivery rate and noise index performances, according to Shanghai Quality Inspection and Supervision Bureau.
The bureau checked 36 batches of air purifiers produced or sold in the city in total. It reminded consumers to pay attention to the package of air purifier and avoid products that are not clearly marked with instructions of applicable area, clean air delivery rate and noise index.
