Spring weather on the horizon

Spring-like weather is set to return to Shanghai Monday with the mercury rising as high as 21 degrees, forecasters said.

However, the pleasant weather will be short-lived as the forecast for next Wednesday calls for rain and a high of 13 degrees.

Next Thursday and Friday of will see temperatures ranging between 9 and 14 degrees.

Yesterday was yushui, the second solar term of a lunar year also known as rain water, after which temperatures tend to rise.

Shanghai Meteorological Bureau said sub-freezing temperatures yesterday kept most suburban areas in blankets. Partially sunny skies and highs of 15-17 degrees are expected to appear for the rest of the week.
