Survey finds Shanghai women wed later

WHILE local men tend to marry at a younger age, women tend to tie the knot later out of their own will or not.
According to a new report by the Shanghai Civil Affairs Bureau, the average age of men getting married was 32.4 years old last year, 0.04 years younger than in 2010. The average age of women was 29.9 years old, 0.1 years older.
The report also indicated a remarkable increase of marriages between locals and non-locals last year. About one third of Shanghai natives married spouses from out of town.
Jiangsu, Anhui, and Zhejiang provinces are the three biggest sources of nuptial partners for Shanghai people.
