Suspects held after double killing

TWO people were being held yesterday after the death of a father and child on Thursday night in the city's Jiading District, police said. A woman was also injured in the incident.
Jiading District police said the suspects, who have not been identified, used to work for the victims, owners of a small decoration company in the district, and had tried to rob them of money.
Police said the incident took place about 7:40pm in the decoration company on Xinyu Road, where the victims also lived. Neighbors heard fighting and called the police.
The man and his six-year-old child were found dead and the woman seriously injured when police officers arrived. The suspects had already fled.
The injured woman is not thought to be the mother of the child but lived with the father.
"The case was first suspected to be caused by the relationship between the man and the woman," a police insider said. "We thought the woman's boyfriend or husband had committed the crime until the suspects were caught."
