Swedish Pavilion highlights problem solving

CONSTRUCTION of the Swedish Pavilion for Expo 2010 began yesterday. It will showcase how the nation solves problems and improves living standards.

The main theme of the pavilion, which will cover 3,000 square meters, will be interaction between urban and rural areas.

Costing US$10 million, it will be in the shape of a large square divided into four sections by a crossroads, reflecting its national flag.

Meanwhile, the Japanese Pavilion has been nicknamed "Zi Can Dao?("Purple Silkworm Island?, reflecting its color and shape. The Japanese organizer has also come up with a logo composed of four abstract smiling faces.
