CITY police have prevented 352 telecom swindles this year by alerting the public and training security guards at bank branches to spot potential victims, the Shanghai Public Security Bureau said yesterday.
Police said victims were about to transfer 18.4 million yuan (US$2.69 million) to con artists' accounts.
