THE Longhua Buddhist Temple raised 3.02 million yuan (US$440,875) in its Lunar New Year charity auction this year.
The nine items put up for auction, including paintings, sculptures and antiques, were donated either by famous local artists or the temple itself. All the money raised will be for the needy families via the Shanghai Charity Foundation.
