Theater performers honored with stage awards

The Shanghai Magnolia Stage Performance Awards honoring outstanding theater performers were handed out last night at Shanghai Grand Theater.

The annual awards recognized talented artists in dramas, dance, Chinese operas and Shanghai farce.

Around 40 nominees from major theater companies across the country vied for awards such as best leading actor/actress, best supporting actor/actress, best new talent in a leading role and best new talent in a supporting role.

They represent the city’s top prize for theatrical excellence.
