Thief buster gets 10,000 yuan award from company

MOLLY Wang, who has been widely praised for her heroic act to stop a thief in a Metro station two days ago, was visited today by the victim who thanked her in person.
Shanghai Metro police said the woman pickpocket who punched Wang in the belly and fled has been caught, and the stolen cell phone has been returned to the victim surnamed Xue.
Wang's employer, an Internet company, also gave her an award of 10,000 yuan.
Police praised Wang's heroism but said they don't encourage such an act because it can be dangerous.
"My parents are also worried about my safety but I have my own principles," Wang said, adding that she will not hesitate to stop a thief.
