Think tank seeks new ideas in maritime legal strategy
A scholarly think tank will send experts on international maritime laws to the nation's "One Belt and One Road" initiative, Shanghai Jiao Tong University said at the 10th anniversary of its oceans law journal yesterday.
The China Oceans Law Review, the only Chinese-English bilingual oceans law publication, is based at Shanghai Jiao Tong University's Center for Polar and Deep Ocean Development, which is one of the first college think tanks in Shanghai.
“To prevent the road of exchange from being bumpy and full of disputes, we need more talents in this field," said professor Fu Kuen-chen, chief editor of the journal.
The center provides consulting reports for national policies and fosters new talents in the field of international maritime strategy.
Other co-organizers of the journal include Xiamen University, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, National Sun Yat-sen University (Kaohsiung Taiwan) and University of Macau.
