Threat to post nude pics lands man in jail
A MAN has been sentenced to four months in jail for trying to extort money from his "online lover" by threatening to post her nude pictures, Zhabei District judges said yesterday.
The man identified as Lu, 34, met the victim surnamed Jiang, a university student, online in April 2009.
The married man claimed he was single and a senior designer of a decoration firm.
Lu soon won her love and she sent Lu three naked pictures at his request.
When he thought he had won Jiang's trust, he asked to borrow 10,000 yuan (US$1,475) on April 23, 2009, saying he needed money urgently, the judges said.
Jiang became suspicious and turned down Lu's request. Lu then threatened to post Jiang's naked photos online if she didn't pay up.
She reported to police soon afterwards.
Lu was caught quickly.
