Ticket prices rise at forest park

DONGPING National Forest Park, a manmade forest on the north side of Chongming Island in Shanghai, has raised ticket prices to 70 yuan (US$10.25) from 40 yuan.

The increase is mainly due to a 120 million yuan investment in improving facilities and expanding the park last year, according to park officials.

With the coming launch of the Shanghai Changjiang Tunnel-Bridge, it will take only 20 minutes to drive from Pudong New Area to Chongming, and the island is expected to see an increase in tourist numbers.

Meanwhile, the park has waived ticket prices for several of its attractions, halving the price of taking its tourist train to 10 yuan.
