Toilet-stabbing victim killed by three men

THE man who was stabbed to death yesterday in a toilet near the Shanghai South Railway Station was reportedly killed by three men, today's Oriental Morning Post said.

Three suspects, a 50-year-old man and his two sons, have been detained. The man's daughter allegedly had an affair with the victim who was married but his identity was not revealed.

"There was a lot of blood on the road outside the toilet," said phone card vendor Zhou Huaquan who witnessed the incident. "One of the three was about 50 years old. The other two looked much younger. They all held a knife in hand."

The killing took place around 9am yesterday in the north square of the railway station, followed with a woman's cry, Zhou recalled.

The victim was stabbed once and tried to escape through a taxi lane but he was caught up in the disused toilet by the three men.

A woman and her daughter who happened to pass by tried to stop them but was rejected by a crying woman and three men, Zhou said.

The victim was stabbed repeatedly and died of massive bleeding. There was a trail of blood leading to the toilet for about 300 meters.

The Xuhui District police are still investigating the case.
