Tot critical after nearly drowning
A TWO-MONTH-OLD local boy was in critical condition after nearly drowning at a bathtub at home yesterday.
When the boy was sent to Shanghai Children's Medical Center by ambulance about 2pm, he was not breathing and had no heartbeat. He regained a weak heartbeat after emergency treatment. Dr Wang Ying, director of the center's intensive care unit, said the boy may suffer a severe brain injury due to oxygen deprivation.
