Truck owner detained for fake entry permit
A TRUCK owner has been detained for 10 days for faking an Shanghai entry permit which is required for all vehicles during the World Expo.
To skip the long queues for security checks for vehicles without the permit, the owner surnamed Zhang photographed a permit on another vehicle and tried to use it to fool police, a police officer with the Xingta checkpoint in Jinshan District told today's Oriental Morning Post.
But the trick failed as the photograph failed the police's card reading machine at the checkpoint on April 20.
From April 15 Shanghai police required all vehicles entering Shanghai to show a special entry permit in a bid to improve security during the World Expo, which runs from May to October.
Those without the card must queue up for additional security checks.
