Turkmenistan delays its big day
TURKMENISTAN Pavilion invites visitors to traditional musical shows by famous folk artists using the unique musical instrument, the "Dutar" and to watch exciting "Ahalteke" horse racing videos in October.
Turkmenistan Pavilion has switched the date for its National Day celebration from yesterday to October.
The date change was made to enable organizers to be better prepared for events and shows to ensure a good experience, said Guseyn Guseynov, representative of the country's Ministry of Textile Industry.
Textiles will be a highlight, celebrating hand-made hanging carpets and showing models wearing traditional cotton clothes.
"The textile industry is playing an important role in our country," said Guseynov.
"The products are now exported to countries all over the world."
Visitors may also see how Turkmen people bake bread in a special oven and hear folk artists play the two-string "Dutar" guitar which is still very popular in the country.
