Two held over utilities fraud
TWO people have been detained by Pudong New Area police for allegedly swindling the public utility fees of over 100 households.
Residents in the district reported last month that they were facing their water, electricity, gas and telephone supplies being cut off although they had paid their bills fees at a service center in Lane 399 Chuangxin Road M. Police found the service center had been in debt and the people in charge were missing. Two suspects, surnamed Ren and Xu, were arrested on March 29.
