University opens new school to train Chinese-language teachers

East China Normal University yesterday founded a school dedicated to educating Chinese-language teachers.

The School of Global Chinese Teacher Education will focus on training instructors to teach Chinese to non-native speakers in environments where few people speak the language, university officials said.

Graduates will hold both a master's degree and teaching certificate, officials said.
