Water cut to Chuansha Town
TWO water pipes in Pudong were broken yesterday, cutting the water supply to residents of a large part of the Chuansha Town.
The supply was restored around 9pm after urgent repairs, today's Oriental Morning Post reported.
Most of the affected were residents living above the second floor of old residential quarters, the newspaper said.
A 5-meter-wide water pipe was broken about noon by an excavator working on the construction site for a road linking the Middle-Ring Road to Pudong International Airport, an unnamed official with Pudong Tap Water Firm told the newspaper.
In the afternoon, a 7-meter-long pipe was also broken.
The water company sent trucks to supply water to local residents.
