Wine cargo arrives at Yangshan

A CARGO of French wine for the second China International Import Expo has arrived at Yangshan Port with immigration inspection officers going aboard the ship to help with entry procedures, the Yangshan Immigration Inspection Station said yesterday.
The wine, weighing over 2,000 kilograms, took 28 days to sail from Antwerp, Belgium, to Shanghai.
It was the last batch of exhibits from Europe to come by sea. Exhibits that follow will mainly come by air, the station said.
Officers said that to ensure the wine is displayed at the expo center as soon as possible, they enhanced communications with the shipping company and related agencies.
Information about the freighter, its crew and the goods was declared on the city’s international trade system in advance and before the ship docked an online preview of all the details was completed.
