Woman facing loss of leg after elevator glitch

A WOMAN is facing leg amputation after her leg was compressed in an elevator for more than an hour in Hongkou District yesterday morning.
The woman was entering at the ground floor when the carriage suddenly started to lift. One of her legs, left outside the carriage, was caught between the ground floor ceiling and carriage. It took an hour for firefighters to get her out. Elevators in the same community have experienced repeated glitches, residents said.
