World Expo 'flush'-back: golden toilets return

THE retrospective show on the World Expo 2010 today began exhibiting two "golden toilets," said to be the world's most luxurious and comfortable toilets, which was first showcased at the Japan Industry Pavilion at the Expo.

During the Expo only selected visitors were allowed to use the toilets that feature golden appearances, aromatic odors, music and 24-hour cleaning. Pavilion officials said people felt as happy and relaxed in the toilets as they would in a comfortable living room.

This was the first time the toilets would be exhibited after the Expo, an official with the memorial exhibition in the former Urban Footprint Pavilion in Puxi said.

The exhibition will feature traditional Chinese decorations, including lanterns and flowers for the coming Lantern Festival that falls on Monday.

More than 14,000 exhibits collected from more than 200 Expo pavilions are on display and a 3-D movie about the world fair Shanghai hosted is shown during the exhibition that runs until the end of this year.
