World's largest Disney store coming to Lujiazui in 2015

DISNEY will open the world's largest Disney retail store in Shanghai's Lujiazui area in 2015, the Walt Disney Company China announced today.
The 5,000-square-meter Disney Store Lujiazui site will include a "state-of-the-art" retail space of 1,000 square meters with Disney products and an outdoor plaza area, the company said in an announcement.
"Disney has combined the retail concept with storytelling, fun and innovation and will provide families with a uniquely immersive entertainment destination featuring our best-loved stories and characters," said Stanley Cheung, executive vice president and managing director of Disney China.
Cheung signed an agreement in Shanghai yesterday for the shop with Li Jinzhao, general manager Shanghai Lujiazui Finance and Trade Zone Development Co Ltd.
Local families and kids will be able to interact with their favorite characters and stories from across Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars.
The plaza will feature Disney-themed landscaping and will have the capacity to host outdoor events.
"The flagship Disney Store will feature the largest and most diverse collection of Disney products by local and international designers," said Cheung.
It will also be an important site where fans can track the progress of Shanghai Disney Resort, which is targeted to open at the end of 2015, he added.
