THE city has started offering free psychological counseling to youngsters and other services at the first social work center in a shopping mall, which was launched yesterday.
Operated by the government Shanghai Sunshine Community-Youth Affairs Center, the center especially targets jobless and young dropouts who don't often turn to community centers for help.
Young people may find it more convenient to access the center set up in the shopping mall on Longhua Road E, Bund Square, officials said.
The center is a trial supported by the center and property owner Greenland Business Group, to run to the end of 2015. The group promised to donate cash and goods worth 1 million yuan (US$160,750) to the center to support its operation.
