Education inspectors for schools

Parents in Hongkou District now have a new channel for complaints with the appointment of education inspectors at every primary, middle and high school. The inspectors will serve as a mediator and adviser to the schools.
Hongkou’s inspectors started work yesterday, making it the first district to implement the new requirement of the Ministry of Education. All schools from primary to high schools, including vocational schools, must have them to help solve parents’ complaints over issues such as admissions, food safety and homework pressure.
A total of 17 inspectors, who are retired teachers and principals from prestigious schools, will be assigned to 79 schools in the district. Each of them will be responsible for five schools.
