Few jobs at fair for disabled
DISABLED college graduates are in the same situation as their able-bodied peers as they face a difficult job market due to the global economic meltdown.
A job fair for physically impaired college graduates yesterday was only offering 140 positions, which the Shanghai Disabled Persons' Federation said was fewer than last year, without providing a figure.
The federation said less companies were willing to recruit disabled people this year.
"We felt it was much harder than before to persuade companies to participate in the job fair," said Lian Jinwen, an official with the federation. "But we cannot blame them because many companies didn't plan to recruit new employees this year because of the economic downturn."
