Fudan thinks of students with ‘smarthouse’

FUDAN University launched a so-called smarthouse at its Jiangwan campus today to make life more convenient for students.

The smarthouse includes ATM machines, a supermarket and package pick-up center.

A student survey found that ATMs were the most desired facility on campus, which opened in 2008.

The survey also showed 92 percent of respondents wanted a package pick-up center so they could pick up their deliveries after class.

Machines selling tickets for performances, a cellphone recharging service and a gift shop were among other facilities added to the smarthouse, which has created part-time jobs for more than 200 students.
