UNIVERSITIES geared up for the new semester over the weekend. Fudan University deposited 100 yuan (US$15.7) in student accounts of those from families in poverty to aid their education. Tongji University provided bed necessities and shopping tokens worth 600,000 yuan in total to students from poor families.
