Jiao Tong offers satellite navigation master鈥檚
SHANGHAI Jiao Tong University has launched the city’s first master’s program on satellite navigation and remote sensing for international students.
The university announced yesterday that the master’s program of engineering mainly targeted students from Belt and Road countries.
“The One Belt, One Road initiative has deepened cooperation between China and involved countries,” said Yu Wenxian, director of the program and a dean of Jiao Tong’s Academy of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering.
“China’s Beidou Navigation Satellite System has been servicing many countries under the initiative,” he added. “With this program, we hope to serve our national strategy and other countries by cultivating high level talents in this high-end technology field.”
The program is run by the Academy of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, and more than 120 English-taught courses have been developed.
It is also supported by the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Navigation and Location-based Services and the Shanghai Key Laboratory of Intelligent Sensing and Recognition, as well as numerous enterprises in the navigation satellite industrial chain.
