THE characters "Meng Mu" in the school's name literally mean "Mencius's mother." The mother is famous because of a legend that she moved house three times before finally ending up beside a school in her search for a location she felt was suitable for raising her son. Mencius grew up to become a famous Chinese philosopher. He lived more than 2,200 years ago.
