Shanghai hosts vocational education summit

THE 3rd International Congress on Technical and Vocational Education and Training opened in Shanghai yesterday.
The three-day summit has attracted more than 800 representatives from 117 countries and 72 international organizations.
About 11 million Chinese students go to vocational schools each year and the total number of enrollment of domestic vocational schools is about 30 million.
Since 1978, vocational education has trained more than 200 million skilled workers in China, significantly raising the competitiveness of Chinese labor force, according to the Ministry of Education.
