South Pole opportunity for students

SHANGHAI university students have the chance to join a scientific expedition to the South Pole next year.

Three students will be chosen to explore the Antarctic Peninsula and experience its unique wildlife on a two-week cruise in March. The students will take part in the expedition organized by 2041, a company dedicated to the preservation of the Antarctic. Polar expert Robert Swan, the first person to walk to both the North and South poles and president of 2041, will lead the expedition.

Participants will have the opportunity to make numerous shore landings, cruise along spectacular ice shelves and follow whales.

Candidates must put forward innovative ideas about sustainable development, how to protect water resources or offer solutions to tackle climate change.
