Thousands find jobs in the city

ABOUT 238,000 people found jobs in the city between January and April as a result of government efforts to prevent lay-offs and encourage companies to hire during the economic crisis, the Shanghai Human Resources and Social Security Bureau said yesterday, without releasing the city's total employment figure.
The bureau said it helped more than 3,000 people open new companies, creating nearly 15,000 jobs.
