Blooming marvelous city event
THE Shanghai International Flower Show opens at the Shanghai Botanical Garden in Xuhui District tomorrow.
The flower being showcased at this year’s show is the lily and about 20,000 of them have been imported from the Netherlands, say organizers.
Orchids from Thailand, bonsai trees from South Korea as well as clematis and succulents will be on display at the show, which will run through May 8.
Visitors will have the opportunity to learn about flower arrangement and experience the fun of gardening at the show. A cheongsam display and a Han costume garden party will also be held.
Botanical gardens and parks from countries including the UK, Thailand, South Korea, the United States, Japan, Canada and Spain will display flowers or participate in a horticulture forum at the show.
